Ian Katz

Ian is responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of the Bank’s US litigation and regulatory proceedings. In addition, he is responsible for the internal reporting obligations of the US Litigation Group, including reserve determinations. With respect to document retention, he is currently responsible for initiating and coordinating enterprise-wide projects to enhance CIBC’s procedures concerning legal preservation notices, and to analyze and revise the Bank’s practices with respect to the storage and retention of email and other electronically stored information. Prior to joining CIBC, Ian practiced with a commercial litigation firm for three years, and was a New York County Assistant District Attorney for six years.
